I've had a Capital One Journey card for about 6 months with a $750 limit (just bumped up from $500).
I can't get my credit report again until July, but the only thing that should be on it are a couple leftover inquiries (3 or 4) and the payment history Capital One has been reporting. I've been paying it off in full every month and using it semi-heavily (some car repairs came up which had to be done, so I was riding the CL pretty close, but paid it off before I got an amount due, if that matters).
My question is: how long should I wait until applying for a second credit card with only ~6 months of credit history to my name?

What card are you interested in applying for? Also why do you say that you can't get your credit report again until July?

I was thinking of getting the Walmart card for the TU score/report.
The only thing is that I applied to them just before I applied with Capital One and was denied because I had no credit history, which was what gave me the idea to try for the Journey.
I last did my free credit report in August, 2011 so I guess it'd actually be August.

I think you may be good for the Walmart now (YMMV), but you can pull your credit at anytime with zero penalties.

That's a good idea Why do you want to see a new report before applying? And are you wanting to view a report from each bureau?

It's not really necessary, but just to explain a bit that I have no idea what Capital One is actually reporting about me. I pay everything well in advance, usually as soon as it hits, so I can keep the credit line open and get the (meager) rewards they offer.
On a side note, does that have much of an effect on my credit score with regards to credit utilization?

It's best to leave a small 1-9% balance on that card since it is your only card reporting for FICO scoring purposes.

Even with a 19.8% APR?

I would keep paying in full like you have and if it's been more than 6 months since you last applied for the Walmart card I give it another shot. If you want to increase your AAoA and chances of approval see if you can be added as an AU on an Amex, VISA, MC, or Discover with at least a few years history and low util.
