LOL. A guy told me a joke once. He said his wife's credit card was stolen, but he never reported it because the thief spent less than his wife did. I chuckled, the lady who was also talking with us was not at all amused. That made it even funnier.
I just make sure to charge something to each of them every month to show usage and not have them closed.

Because for my husband and myself, its just right! We wanted an Amex, a Visa Card, a Mastercard and a Discover. We don't have the Discover yet -- but, all in good time!
I just have my 4 unsecured cards and I think the mix is perfect since I have one of each.
I don't think I'd ever need to go past 5.
Store cards. Maybe Kohls at some point since I shop there quite often, although their prices have been steadily rising as well.
