I ask because I am interested in the Marriott 70k point offer, I just finished my 40k point offer plus 5k for authorized user usage on my CSP and wouldn't hate to have 120k Marriott points in addition to my points I already have with them.
The question is, I've gotten a Freedom (February) a Slate (May) and a CSP (June)and am concerned that if I go for it I would raise some red flags. None of my accounts carry a balance and I run about 2k through the CSP a month.
Should I be concerned? Hold off? Or pull the trigger?
EDIT: When I say "none of my accounts" I mean with Chase. I have a $2,000 balance on my Zales card as 0% on an engagement ring that I've been paying off over the last 5 months.
If you got denied it wouldn't be because you hit your limit of Chase cards. But you could be denied for to many new accounts or some other reason in my opinion. Good Luck if you go for it!
I wouldn't worry about it... if you have issues getting the approval you could offer to close the slate and move the CL over.
i WISH chase was here in minnesota.... best bank i have ever dealt with x.x
i would move all my cards/accounts over to them in a blink!
I plan on going for that Marriott Rewards as well. I just need to wait a few more days because Chase said they won't give me more than 2 cards in 30 days and I got my Freedom and CSP on July 2nd or 3rd.
Waiting is usually the best thing sure they may approve you for the card but then give you a major slapdown with a 1 or 2k CL, when if you waited 3-6 months they might of surpassed your current highest CL with them, perhaps even double it.

I live in NYC and don't have a problem finding Chase Banks ... But whenever I travel there is never any to find in the State I am in

I believe the Marriott card is only a Siggy and if I am wrong please correct me on that ...? Chase also has a hard stance of $5,000 limit before offering Siggy cards so he would at worse have a $5,000 limit if approved
Do you think that 3 new Chase accounts in the past 7 months would deter them? I don't want AA on my existing relationship with them. I'm leaning towards just groaning and missing the offer.. but am not 100% decided. My main concern is simply that they'll think 4 accounts that quick is excessive and get worried. When I just want the points.
