The 'rule' is you can apply for a second one after 8 days and a third one after 65 days. There is no limit to how many you can have. What do they do limit is the amount of credit they'll extend you just like other creditors
Right, I have 4, and Citi was the first (and only, for that matter!) creditor to decline a CLI because of enough credit with them.
That's about to happen to me I'm afraid. Was approved for the AA business card with very low limit and they won't let me transfer any limit from my personal cards so I'm going to have to hit them up for CLI but I'm not too hopeful.
I have 6 cards with Citibank; and I, too, have definitely hit my maximum credit limit with them. Fortunately, I don't think they have anything left that I am interested in at this moment anyway. While I have seen people with a high number of Capital One and Chase cards, I don't really see the same with Citi.
I have four Citi cards opened this year 7/30, 8/03, 10/28, 11/08.
I have 5 cards with them, 2 of which I am gonna close soon.
My most recent approval, the Prestige, they gave me the option of opening it with 5,000, or transfering some credit from one card to the Prestige, because I have enough credit with them already.
So, like others have said, I don't know if there's a limit in the amount of cards, but there is a limit in the about of credit.
