I want an AMEX so bad! I have been rejected 3 times before for their CC not for charge though and after reading these forums I have read that charge are easier to get.
I SADLY have 25 hard inq on my EX and 11 on TU and 13 on EQ.
I have low FICO scores and wasn't planning on applying for AMEX tomorrow. I was thinking sometime next year, before the world ends of course
I've only had credit for a year as of today.
Do you think that if I got my score high enough I they would consider me and ignore all the inquires?
Thanks!
Amex uses very different critieria for their approvals. Inq's might or might not play a role depending on other factors. We have read people getting Amex Zync card with relatively low scores comparing to other cards. You might want to search the forum and see if you can find their posts.
25 is a ton. And you have a short credit history. I'm not sure how high you can get your score with 25 inquiries, but it couldn't hurt to try. I personally wouldn't app until at least 20 of those inquiries fall off (12 months).
They seem to be VERY inquiry sensitive.... I think you would likely be adding to your already mounting number of inquiries without much luck in approval, (for revolver anyways).... I have 6 inq showing on experian and was declined for their revolver, but approved for the Zync, which seems to be geared towards having leniency for multiple inquiries and a shorter credit history. Just my two cents......
IMHO I wouldnt try an AMEX application with anything more than 3-4 Inquries, still might be pushing it.
sorry to bump up an old thread but i was approved with about 9-10 inquires
Inquiry sensitive? Not sure, I was approved last year for a revolver w/ 14 inquiries / at the time of approval I'd already had a 16yr. history with Amex however with 2 Charge Cards and 1 Revolver.
