How many Inquiries are too many?

I have 2 inquiries with Experian this year - how many are too many?

I stopped counting a while ago.  I think I have 48 Hard Inq's on my EX....

ohh you beat me I have 22! Im wondering if PP letters work or even matter. I did one today just to see.

I think I read High achievers have 1 per year... dunno how that is possible???

About 72% of FICO High Achievers did not apply for credit in the past year. Of those that did, about 20% applied for credit just once.

so high achievers have zero inquiries lol

See that 29 point dive in my EX scores in my signature in 2 weeks? That's from 3 inquiries.

I believe there is diminishing damage as you accumulate them and I believe they hurt more the higher your scores are, but it will be a while before I get those 29 EX points back.

I have 2 inquiries - I'm done! I did CLI for my FCU CCs and one for BoA - they are all with EX. I'm donel - no more loans on inquiries for me!

Okay, my other question is - I have 35 accounts, 8 of them with balances, 3 new ones. I got Student Loans and all of the Wachovia and Sallie Mae moved monies over but left a mess of accounts all over the place until they lumped into one - what can be done about that? I have a red flag on 35 accounts

I have 35 with one of the CRAs not sure which one though, can't remember.
