I currently have 4 cards with Chase total CL ~ 50K. Early next year (March) I'm thinking of applying for the Bold and the Hyatt. Does Chase have a limit on how many of their cards you can have? I don't think I have reached my internal credit limit with them yet. Every approval I've gotten from them has been accompanied with a higher limit than the last card. I just don't want to burn a HP if Chase only allows you to carry 5 cards or something like that.
I doubt there is a limit, but I'm sure you'll hit a point where you'll have to shift some credit over. The Bold card on the other hand IIRC you will app via sole properitor if you don't really have a business.

Don't have a business but I run a small non-profit that links inner city kids with mentors, Chase said it's acceptable. so I'm good on that one.
I'm up to 7 Chase cards. They asked about why I have so many cards on the 7th approval and I just explained how each card plays a different role. I think it's pretty subjective.

Did you have to recon? Did you have to move any limits around?

there doesn't seem to be a card limit with chase. what matters to them mostly is the total amount of credit relative to your income and credit history.
if they determine you are applying for cards just for sign-up bonuses, then that will be another issue, but this is rarely ever the case for most people. it does take quite a bit of abuse to even get to this point.
if you think you have yet to reach the CL threshold, you should be fine. Worst case scenario you'll just have to move some credit lines around.
I'm glad to hear they let you have multiple cards. Seems like all the cards I want are from Chase -- they have great travel cards (airlines and hotels) with good sign up bonuses.

Yeah they have awesome deals and cards I will actually keep.
Of the four cards I have (United, CSP, IHG and Freedom) I can't see me getting rid of any of them. They all easily make up their annual fee. I'm also going to keep the Hyatt once I get it, not sure about the Bold yet.

On my 7th card I did have to recon. Didn't need to move limits around though.
