How much do I ask for?

Will be traveling out of the country and would like to charge everything on the select card. My only concern is the credit line is not sufficient. So I want to ask chase for a cli and need everyone opnion on how much to ask for. So should I ask for a percentage of my CL, match my highest CL or just go with my gut. Lol Just want to make it worth the hard pull. So what would you do? Thanks

Ask for what you need and be able to explain why.

Re: How much do I ask for?

I agree with the above post. Though, likely, they will tell you what they will give you. When I CLI'd my discover I asked them to double it. They said they would come close (2k lower than double) and if I waited a few months and showed that I was being responsible, I could call back and ask for more.

In my wallet:
Discover More / Chase Amazon / Chase Freedom /Chase Business Ink / Chase Slate / Capital One Cash Rewards / Walmart Discover / Kohls / JCPenny / Home Depot / Art Van

Experian Direct PLUS scores: Experian 744/ Equifax 763/ TU 744

Re: How much do I ask for?

Thanks for the feedback. Think I will ask for 8.5k. Also going to wait for some balances to report zero in may. Chase is my oldest card, so they should be willing to be at the same level as barclays. Last statement had a 17.5K bal and was PIf. Hopefully they are as friendly as barclays!

Re: How much do I ask for?

Buyer beware, Chase will more than likely do a HP on you, and you might not even get the CLI. So that is one thing to consider.
