How much should I ask for?

I am going to ask online for a CLI from Chase.  Right now I have a credit limit of 400.00, doing it online I can only ask for one limit amount.  Should asking for 5,000 be ok or should I go lower?  My CR are as followed;
Trans Union 650, Eqifax 684, and Experian 714

Thanks!!!

Re: How much should I ask for?

With slightly lower scores I got $2000 when I applied.
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: How much should I ask for?

I got their card through Amazon, when I got approved my CR was horrible, now they are up.  I am wanting my credit limit raised so it looks good on my CR.  Any suggestions on a good limit to ask for?  Once again my CR are;
Trans Union 650, Eqifax 684, and Experian 714

Re: How much should I ask for?

I just asked for a 3,000 limit with Chase, I am still waiting on them to get back to me maybe tomorrow I'll find out.  I am also waiting for Juniper to email me back to see if they do a hard pull on my CR for the CLI.

Re: How much should I ask for?

I had a Chase "Perfect Card" with $400 CL asked for $2500 got $600, then applied for the Chase "Freedom" and got a $2500 CL.

Re: How much should I ask for?

Those jack@## at Chase denied me!!!!  They said that they will send a letter in the mail explaining why.  But since I am in Iraq I can't receive my mail.  So I emailed them back stating my situation and asked if they can email me why I was denied.  I also told them that they had a late payment on my record which they should be taking off, I told them that I have the email to prove it, and I see no reason that I was denied.  I also told them that I want to continue doing business with them, but the low CL is not helping me at all.  They then sent me an email telling me to log in to my account and go to customer service???  What does that mean???  In no way did they answer my question?!?!  What's the deal with them??

Re: How much should I ask for?

Go and apply for one card AMEX DELTA GOLD SKYMILES. NOTHING ELSE. Do it right now. forget the chase. After you get approved for it, convert to no fee AMEX BLUE at activation. That's what I did wih lower scores then you.
Good luck.
