How's your card stand up...physically?

I recently received a new Chase card, just the regular platinum card, and it seems to very weak compared to the other cards we've received recently.  DW's old platinum card was much stronger, more of a back bone to it.  Mine is pretty flimsy.  Just curious if anyone else has had an issue with the physical characteristics of the cards they have.  (And yes, I'm board Smiley Happy)

Re: How's your card stand up...physically?

krystofur,

OK,  I am bored too...

All of my cards are sturdy, except one.  It is my federal govt Visa card issued by Citi.  It is the flimsiest (is that a word?) piece of plastic I have ever seen.  Has a small Citi logo.  Basic silver color and it is stamped with the work TRAVEL.  Good thing that I don't travel much for work.  I would think that Citi can do better, or the federal govt could do better.

This card is embarrassing.  I keep it locked up in my desk at work.

My sturdiest card is my Hooters card.  It's THICK and LARGE.  Ha Ha.  Yeah, my Chase card does seem a little flimsy compared to it.  But not my others.

Yep, I think my sturdiest card is also Hooters. I just can not wait till I get a PayWave or SpeedPay. It will be soon.

I dont know if this counts by the 3 digit code on the back of my National City Visa is hard to read and the print looks smudged.

In the old days, you ran your cred through a machine that would take an imprint of your card and you would sign the slip.

For what people pay in interest fees, the card should be made out of Cuendillar
.

Some places they still make you do it. If the computer is offline or some thing, then they take that. I think it was hotel  or some thing, they did the same thing for me, just few months ago.

Im the old days they used to print the CVV number on the signature panel.  Now it's usually on a separate little piece right next to the signature panel.

I had to request a replacement card one time because I had used the card so much that all the swiping had rubbed the signature panel completely off.  Since I didn't know the CVV by heart I wasn't able to use that card online for anything until I got a replacement.

My Lowes card is a piece-o-poo.  The front layer of plastic is peeling off.  It's about 50% off.  I'm afraid to call and ask for another card because I'm afraid they'll report it lost/stolen and issue a new account number.  I don't want another dupe TL on my credit report...  I'll just keep this card.  It still swipes because the back is in tact.

Until I break down & get a new wallet all mine are at risk of destruction. Have only one card packet for all my cc, debits, dl, a few others and have to force a finger inside to pull cards out one by one. One card will be broken soon, already has a bend and small crack in it. Definitely need a new wallet.
