I would like to see your calculations. (perhaps that's lemon drop 2 talking)
ETA: OP, you'll likely be fine. If you're worried, don't buy the iphones. But you'll likely be fine.
If they did AA based on your low level of activity, I'd be screwed.

Applied for the SM right before the link stopped working and got auto approval for $2k. I've only used about $150 so far but will PIF once I receive my paycheck. I'm planning on apping for Discover IT since theyre offering 20% cashback for apple pay after doubling. I plan on using the card at the apple store to buy 2 new iPhone 6s Pluses (around $800 each after taxes) in order to take advantage of the cashback and get early xmas presents. What do you think my chances of AA are for barclays?
I also want to note that I was also recently approved for Citi DC, 2 weeks after SM approval and have used $30 out of my $1.2k limit.
Your chances of receiving adverse action from Barclays because of what you've discussed are approximately zero. If you use the card at least a little each month they won't care.
I got a lot of new accounts when I got my Barclay's card I was reading the same thing of AA but I keep low balances on the cards and it has been 7mts and all is well with Barclay's. As a side note my TU FICO was: 770 at the time of the app.

I hope Discover approves you for enough to get the phones since they are so stingy.
