How should I go about closing accounts??

I am finally ready to close my Orchard account but I also have a BofA Plat Plus I am considering closing.  How long should I wait on closing the BofA account after I close the Orchard account?

Why not both on the same day?

Before you do this make sure you've read about Closing Credit Cards.

Thanks for the link Marinevievet.  I think as far as util I'll be ok.  I recently opened a Chase Slate with a 3000 cl.  My Orchard  and BofA  have 1500 cl each.  I have out grown Orchard and BofA just doesn't seem to want to give me much love.  I have ask to pc and have been told I can't with a Plat Plus.

Will this Slate be your only open TL once you close orchard/bofa? If yes, that may not be a great idea. I will leave atleast 2-3 TLs open. If your orchard has a AF, I would get rid of it but probably sockdrawer BofA (if it got no AF).

I have several open TLs so closing these two won't hurt me as far as reporting goes.

Macy''s 1996

Citi AA  2009

Citi Plat Select  2010

Home Depot  2009

Sam's  2009

Amex 2010

Chase Slate  2011

Orchard  2006

BofA Plat Plus 2008

Orchard has a $79 AF which is one reason I'm ready to close it.  And the Bof"A has a $29 AF. If BofA doesn't let PC before the AF is due in October, they will be next.

Re: How should I go about closing accounts??

Im thinking about closing mine also.. They will probably offer to cut your annual fee in half for this year, they did so with me, and im still thinking about weather to close it or not, depends on if i get approved for the CU card about to apply for.

Good Luck, from your info it doesnt seem like you need it anymore.
