How soon after you get denied for a card...

...can you reapply for the same card?

Ah, so these are actual rules set by the lenders?  I was expecting more of a general opinion type answer.

On that note....is it BAD to, say, app again in 30 days? (using AMEX as an example)

Re: How soon after you get denied for a card...

how about we use less example and who did you get denied for and what were the reasons.

some things won't change in 30 days or 2 years if say you have a BK and the bank you are applying for is a strict no bk bank!

Ha!  It honestly was just a general question out of curiousity.  Haven't app'd/denied lately.

Been learning so much about everything credit related on this board, but haven't really come across this topic yet.

Was just curious.

oh okay Smiley Happy

For the most part I would wait at least 30 days at least but again it's going to depend if you are dealing with a bank like GE were you can't recon a computer decline unless something big has changed probably wouldn't be worth it with same exact card again in just 30 days

As other have said they're all different. Citi has a limit on apps (1 every week no more than 2 every 60 days) and Chase is kind of a dark horse. Agree with 30 days as a very general rule though or if something significantly changes on your CR.
