Either you misunderstood, or those posters were totally wrong. Discover has its own payment network, separate from AmEx. The four payment networks are Discover/Diner's Club, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

That is the whole reason I made the thread to clear it up as to whether discover still worked with PayPal key.
Okay I see now. Yep that would be confusing if it were the case. No need to worry. Discover is NOT using the Amex network. That would be like the Google CEO promoting the Apple Iphone.
Works great, just paid rent with Discover + PPK and max'ed out my 5% for the quarter.
Half tempted to grab a Discover Miles and get 3% for a year of Cashback Match on that.
How'd you do that @notmyrealname23? Does your landlord/leasing management allow credit card payments?

Credit and debit card payments. Debit cards are a flat fee, credit cards are a percentage which usually means you're better off with a debit card. PPK is a debit card...
Oh, wow had no idea that PPK was considered a debit card. That's awesome, thanks @notmyrealname23!
Yep, it works like a charm.
Just a little while ago I used it in-store at Walmart via Walmart Pay.
