If you're looking to accrue AA miles via spend, the SPG is the best one at 1.25 per dollar.
Hmm. I'll probably look at the spg and AA cards during my next app cycle and go for the one with the highest signup offer
The AA card has a 50k offer that's been ongoing for a while now, so you are pretty much guaranteed to get a better sign-up offer for the AA card.
For general spend, the SPG card is good to rack up AA miles indirectly. 20k SPG points = 25k AA miles. However if you have a lot of AA spend, then go with the AA card because that will give you 2 points per dollar on top of other AA benefits.
Yea, its unlikely that I will have direct AA spend. I have status on United until 2015, so for paid flights I would probably stay with them. Gathering up AA miles since it appears to be the best path for international premium reward redemption at the moment. Can't pull the trigger on yet another CC at the moment due to inqs, so I will have to sit tight until Aug. Was looking to put my SPG app on hold until Jan for max backdating.

UA miles (and also UR points) are also good for international premium awards. You can book flights for NH and EVA on UA website. I remember reading somewhere that you can also call in to book SQ flights as well, though you will be subject to the phone booking fee and SQ is generally very stingy with partner awards. All these airlines are really good as well. The only downside is that you will most likely need to play around with your flight dates to get the saver rates, otherwise you will be forking out a lot of UR / UA miles.

I initially got into UR and United for the international premium redemption and then after I had started building up the points the united devals hit premium international extremely hard. I would love to fly SQ and have looked at NH as well, but always thought the amount of miles now required would be too high compared to american redemptions.
If you are ok with business you can fly pretty much anywhere in asia with UA for 80k each way. (Mix in UA First for free!) I just burned almost 400k UR on UA right before the devaul so I"m pumped!

it's 80k miles each way now if you manage to get the saver rates, otherwise it's going to cost you almost 400k miles for a roundtrip.
I originally planned to use my UR for UA too, but transfered them to Hyatt instead now.
nevertheless, if I had to choose between 160k miles for a SQ roundtrip vs. 135k miles for a CX roundtrip, I probably will still go with SQ.
To Japan, ANA has some excellent mileage redemptions through AA and US Air.
At this point though, I'd focus more on AA points accrual. When you're ready, you can app for Citi in quick succession, 2nd app 8 days after the first, and 3rd 61 days after the second.
Here's what I would do (have done actually):
1. AA Advantage 50K.
2. AA Exec 100K, 8+ days later.
3. Bus AA 50K, 61+ days later, which is churnable per 91 days thereafter.
If you have a business, since it doesn't affect your personal CR, just keep churning the Bus AA 50K until Citi stops it.
*Edited* PS - If declined for any app, the wait is 91 days for the next Citi app.
PS 2 - Also, for SPG, wait for Oct, where there may be another 30K promo.

After the devaulation, since my flights orginate from NA, I no longer value transferring UR points to UA. Likewise, will mostly likely allocate my URs to either Hyatt or roundoff my Ritz stays.
Recently, UA has taken off the option to redeem via SQ from their website and some have reported problems redeem SQ via UA. Not sure if it was isolated, or more of a widesspread issue.

Yes I am going to use my URs with Hyatt or United domestic fares. I would app for additional citi cards right away, but as of May 2013 I did not have any active credit cards and I added one during 5/2013,another 6/2013 and then added 3 more in Jan 2014 and then the citi executive card March 2014 (this last one was unexpected app but didnt want to miss bonus). Given the number of new trade lines I'm hesitant to add new cards at the moment (as much as I want to). I'm going for the chase ink in August when they usually have their larger signup offer. 3 HPs will be a year old by June, so I could go for another AA card in July but I am unsure if that HP will jeopardize my chances at the ink which is very important to me. If its too risky then I will app for 1 or 2 cards in additional cards (after the ink approval). Maybe an AA personal card and an AA biz card.
