Hi Everyone,
I am on my rebuilding stages but i am not even near of applying to an amex card yet. I've been seriously thinking of going back to amex after my reports clears out and my scores improves. Anyways, long story short. I had an amex charge card that went in default but i paid off in full and they closed in October 2007. Its supposed to fall out of my credit report on october of this year. I have been working really hard on rebuilding and paying off my medical collections. I have 4 current positive revolving accounts (2 store cards and 2 secured cards). My score is improving very slowly (too many medical debit).
Anywyas, is it possible to get a amex card in the future and have my account backdated even after the first account falls off of my report? I just can't see myself being able to apply for an AMEX this year. Perhaps, next year around august (I would like one with great travel rewards and no more charge cards because i have learned my lesson in the hard way)
Thank you all!
I think you have a good chance. If it's paid in full your odds are good. Of course, YMMV.

Someone had a CO in 2008 and reported they were able to get BCE and even got the MSD updated--and that was settled CO rather than PIF--so I'd say go for it if you have a pretty good record (no recent baddies).

Thank you for replying and the link. yes, my debit was paid in full and my medical baddies are from 2011. I've seriously started working on my credit report on January/2014 and my scores are pretty low for amex still. I got two medical collections deleted after paid but still no change hahaha. Anyways, I am going to still pay my positive revolving accounts on time + paying my medical debits. Hopefully, when my score improves then I will give it a shot to amex again. I would love to have an amex and a discover card but I will not attempt until my scores are at least 700 (I am too scared of denials). My scores are still 586-608 and I have 3 inquiries on EX, 1 on EQ and 1 on TU.
