Well after 14 months of credit building history I have finally broke the 700 mark thanks to all the great people on this forum. Went from 640s to now having a 725eq 718tu 727ex. And ben a member for only 2 months to myfico.
I just applied for citi simplicity and was approved for 3900.Ihave the Diamond Preferred for 3100cl after I did aome auto luv and 2 chase cards at 2000.
What do I have to do to get to 5000cl???
I have only 3yrs credit card history but my oldest auto loan is over 9years ago reported. Salary is 48000.
You guys and gals of course have gotten me this far so any info will help and thank you to all the contributors. It's been a great and aggrevating ride so far. Didn't know credit could be so stressful.
NFCU could be a dear friend to an individual such as yourself. Do you qualify?
USAA was my first $5K card. Are you eligible? How about BBVA NBA Amex?
Cap1 is probably the easiest. But your scores are probably good enough for American Express. Amex also has a pre-qual site. With the 3x CLI's you can grow Amex cards fairly quickly. I think it really is about what cards will be most useful for you. Don't just app for a card because you think it will give you a good limit. You are ready to start thinking about long term rewards, too.
I can definitely vouch for Amex. Got my BCP in October at $4100, got 2nd CLI to 25k today. And your scores are better than mine. I think you're a shoo in.
My path to higher limits was AMEX first for 3X to 6k and then Lowes helped me break the 10k barrier.

Agreed, Venture would be the best bet
I have only been building for 9 months, had no credit cards prior to that ever. I applied for the PenFed Platinum Rewards card a couple weeks ago and was approved for the minimum starting line of 5k. It was my first 5k limit and it's a visa signature(first one of those for me too), so I was pretty excited. Good luck getting your 5k+ card!!
Capital One Prequal and if Venture is offered, Bingo!
