Got any family members who could run some charges through your card and pay you?
I think he's looking for THAT OTHER CREDIT forum.
Me too.

What is it currently? $4,000 over 3 months? Insurance, use it. Cell bill, use it. Do you have any items that you planned to purchase that maybe you were saving for? I wouldn't think spending $1,333/mo on it should be hard to reach.
Also it's generally a good idea to figure these things out prior to applying for the card. If you apply for a card that requires a $4K spend and you don't have legitimate items to spend it on you will end up making purchases that you don't need just meet the bonus. Not a good idea.
+1 if you don't have a reason to spend money to hit the spend bonus then you probably shouldn't be gettin the card in the first place. There are plenty of other cards with lower spend requirements. I tend to let my phone and cable bills build up so when I get a new card I have plenty to charge. You would only do that with things that do not have late charges though.
Very much this. I needed a new iPad, and some new glasses from Costco, when I got my Amex. I coulda spent on other household, but that met the 1k pretty quick, while letting me spread love to othe cards. Otherwise, google for other methods, and research your card WELL in advance of applying. Tis why I got the amazon card, free $70 for nothing but applying.

I disagree. Credit card bonuses are free money. Why would you pass up free money? But let's not get into that disagreement.
Please stop posting about prepaying taxes. We have had this discussion prior. Also, stop posting about Amex Serve, why we pointed OP to other forum.

. But if after year 1 I see no benefits on CSP then it's out ! I'm almost sure there is others around that missed the bonus and still found good use to justify the AF
You might consider getting a card with good bonuses on gas. Freedom is 5% July-Sep, It is Jan-Mar. Not sure about any other cards that offer it.
I recently made bonus spend. Most of it was through putting my parents purchases on the card. It was very helpful recently, because my parents don't have any no FTF cards with EMV and we were in Europe. Also has some gas purchases and some clothes and gifts. It's really early to buy Christmas presents, but maybe you could buy whatever gift cards you are going to buy for Christmas and birthday presents this year? Gift cards don't expire, so it might be a good way to get you to meet spend, just don't buy too much, it might annoy Chase and put you at risk.

+1 If your going to have a huge increase in gas spend then you would be well served by looking for a card with a fuel bonus category. There are several cards out there like that and if your fuel expenses are really that high then those bonus cards will be much better than the CSP in terms of earning. Amex everyday preferred may be worth a look. Where you fill up can play a role too.
It's not illegitimate, but we already had the heated debate re taxes and all that jazz, so I assume nobody wants to reignite that. As stated, there are other forums better suited to answer this question more broadly. Same reason why Imperfectfuture said don't mention Serve; it's beyond the scope of this forum to discuss those things (as we all basically agreed in one of those threads).
For a "traditional" method I suggest asking if anyone you know has a large item they want to purchase, have them pay you for it. That's the easiest.
I second that next time, take a hard look at the card's webpage before applying. Check out the spend required. If you cannot meet it with items you need (let's just say that vs legit/illegit), it's a waste to try and buy things just to meet the spend, IMO. A bonus is free money, but it's not really free money if you are forcing yourself to spend enough to get it. If you don't have anything you need that will take you to the required spend, it's better to wait on the bonus.

BB, RB have a legitimate purpose.
If someone wants to use it in a not so popular around here purpose that is up to them and is on them solely.
Should we not talk about CCs either because sometimes people use them for fraud or irresponsibly?
While I agree they have legitimate purposes it is quite clear in this thread that OP does not have enough legitimate spend and therefore would not be using them in such ways. When serve was mentioned in this thread it was clearly implied that it was not being used for legitimate spend. If someone was posting about how they could pay bills they had which do not accept credit cards then that would be a different story. In this thread though that does not seem to be the issue and I think that is where IF was coming from but they can obviously speak for themself. That is just how I understood the post.
