I've recently picked up a plain Jane Platinum card from Cap One. I'm on a rebuild, so I was happy to even get their $300 credit steps card.
Anyway, I read alot about what they "want to see". I hear about people that get CLIs falling from the heavens every time it's due to ask, and others with the same credit profile stuck at the same CL for years. What exactly makes the difference? Do they want to see heavy usage with a PIF every month? Light usage with a small balance reporting? Help me understand the key here. Thank you so much!
Great share @AllZero I had never seen that before! Thanks

@cashorcharge .You are welcome. 😃
Cap One likes heavy usage.
Extreme efforts with Capital One will yield less than no effort at all from NFCU, PenFed, Chase, AmEx...
Don't try to impress the stodgy small town grump. Be yourself and be fawned over by the city slickers with deep pockets.
As with most lenders, it's really profile-specific. What one person finds to be successful with their profile may be exactly the opposite of what someone else finds works for them.

..and also Rice Crispy Treats, though no one really knows where to mail them...
How do people get that link to work? All it does is log me into my accounts and then a message pops up that says "We've hit a snag" and it has done that for months no matter what web browser I use.
