How to tell if you have the $200 Freedom bonus?

Hey again all,

I recently applied and got approved for a chase freedom card at the beginning of the month, and I noticed a lot of people talking about the spend $500 and get a $200 bonus. Problem is, for the life of me, I can't remember if my pre approval letter said that or not. And by now that letter is probably off in a landfill somewhere lol. Anyway, I couldn't find anything on my online account or in my welcome letter. Is this something I'd have to call in for?

You can either call or message them. I don't think it will say online. But they should be able to find out for you.

Also to note if it was not included in the offer you applied for you maybe able to SM and get the offer added YMMV

I'm sorry I'm still getting used to all the abbreviations and I do reference the common abbreviations thread often, ha, but what is SM short for?

SM= secure message

The $200 bonus would post to your account in the form of 20,000 points, which are redeemable for $200.  If your statement cuts after you meet the spend, and the 20,000 points aren't added to your account, suggest you send a SM (secure message), and ask when the bonus will post.

Well youll get a bonus either way as I believe the freedom always offers the 100 bonus. The question would be if youre getting the 200 bonus.

You can call and ask...much faster than an SM for a simple question like this. Youll have an answer in 2 minutes.

If you didnt get the 200 but only the 100 you can politely request the 200.

thats just on this forum.

OP, definitely secure message them and get that free $200. If you don't have it on your account, Chase is pretty good about matching to the current best promo.

So I went ahead and followed all of you guys' advice and sent them an SM (lol at how many things it can stand for btw ) and they responded and said I didn't have that offer. So I replied and politely asked if there was anyway I could have that offer added on and they assigned me a case number so I'm guessing they're evaluating if I'm worthy? Haha
