How to upgrade Cap-1 Account?

Hello.  I have the same question...I have a Capitol One Platinum that I've had about ta year.  I had a CLI from $500 to $1500 a couple months ago.  Want to upgrade the card now.  Over the last couple years my score has increased from a 530 to a 660.  How do I go about doing this.  Thanks in advance for the help!

Both PC & CLI (If done through Cap 1 web site) are soft pulls.  You may ask for CLI every 6 months, sometimes they are auto CLI, sometimes you have to ask for them.  Just go on chat and ask to upgrade your Platinum to QS rewards.  You may ask for the CLI  there too. Keep in mind if you get the CLI, you will have to wait 6 months for another try.  You could also do the Cap 1 prequal and see if you are approved for some cards.  Good luck.

I just called customer service one day, asked if there were any upgrade offers available on my account, they said yes and told me what, and they did it.

It was easy.

Will the upgraded card then be considered in the product catagory of the Visa Venture and Quicksilvers, or another variation of the starter cards of Platinum secured, Platinum,  Journey and Quicksilver One Mastercards?

The Platinum is usually upgraded to either QS1 MC or QS MC,  depends on individual acc. profile.  I just upgraded Platinum to QS via chat.   Acc. # stays the same and no initial bonuses are offered as if you had apped for QS.  Basically you get rewards & no AF, mybe an APR reduction YMMV.

You card will stay on the same network. So if its a MC it will remain a MC or Visa will remain Visa...etc.

You can call and ask if a product change is possible, as mentuondd prior to my post you can usually change to a quicksilver one or a quicksilver without the annual fee. Sometimes you can change to the venture one or venture. It will still be a MC or Visa based on what you have.

With a product change you do miss out on the signup bonus.

They will offer you a Quicksilver or Quicksilver One.

For those of you who have PC'd, did you have a balance at the time? I'm currently carrying a relatively high balance and am always told there are no offers on my account for upgrade, and I'm beginning to think it's due to my balance. I plan on trying again once my balance is PIF. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Good luck to the OP!
