No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I have secured Discover and NFCU cards and I've been using them quite regularly and paying them off as soon as the charge has posted. They're each only $200 limits, so I can't spend too much on them at one time. I also have a Capital One QS at $1000 that I keep at $10 for AZEO.
For the secured cards, is it risky putting so much spend through each card (probably averages around $350/week for my daily groceries/gas/bills)? I didn't know if Discover or NFCU look at that kind of activity as good or bad when it comes to unsecuring the card in the future and increasing credit limits.
Thank you!
It is not bad to show you can use your limit especially if you pay it off quickly and reuse it. It actually shows you can handle the limit you were given and will possibly help in a good increase
On a side note you don't want to be going over the CL for example if it will let you do 300 (100 over the 200 CL) you don't want to keep doing that on the random occasion is ok as long as you correct it asap (never let it sit above the CL).

Great, thank you! Yes, I've been making sure not to charge anything to the card if it's nearing the limit until my payment has posted!
Thank you again for your help! I'll keep charging what I can through those cards and hope for an early/on-time graduation!
@Anonymous, I would not worry .. and would continue to use the cards as your are doing.
Putting every day charges on the cards and paying it off is exactly how you should be using the cards, don't be afraid to spend on them because if you show responsible usage the lender will like you. If you are able to throw a little more money at it to make the limits a little bigger that may help too just to give you a buffer so you can put more every day spend on the secured cards without maxing them out.

Discover does *NOT* like going overlimit, even if you pay it in full immediately on secured cards.... it can set your graduation back to 0..... (And needing to wait all over again, the full 7 again)
(Yes im trying to search for posts referencing this) ... Saw this and wanted to immediately post....
Rinse and reuse, is one thing....
Going over limit.... Nope.....
