How to work with Barclay's

How many Barclaycards can you have? How long should I app for my next Barclaycard?

YMMV on this.as it depends on your credit file.Every 30 days you can apply with them.Not saying you will get approved,I once had 5 accounts with them but trimed it down to 3, hope this helps you

Currently I have 2 Barclay Cards open but I've had 3 accounts total with them since October. 

First card was the Barclay Rewards - opened in October.  Second card was the Arrival - app'd for it in December & declined.  I figured it may be because I already had an account open with them.  So, a week or two later, I built up enough courage to call the backdoor number to re-con my Arrival app.  It cost me another hard pull, but re-con went well & was approved. 

A couple weeks later, I decided to try to PC my Rewards card to the Sallie Mae.  However, the analyst I spoke with said that a PC between those 2 cards was not an available option & to get the Sallie Mae, I would have to apply for it.  He also advised that if it was not instantly approved, I should call his dept. back at that time to discuss my options.  So, that's what I did.  Not instantly approved (but not declined either), so I called the backdoor number/analyst line again.  At that time, I was given the option to close my Rewards card & transfer the CL to the Sallie Mae....which, ironically, was what I essentially wanted to do in the first place. 

Anyway, just based on my experience, I believe it's ok to have another Barclay card -- whether it be an additional account or essentially another product -- it just takes a little more effort than with some other companies.  It may also be because I'm a relatively new customer and perhaps once a longer relationship (6-12+ months) is established, there will be less hoops to jump over to attain another cc/product......but that's just my guess.

You can have more than one. I app'd for Sallie Mae card in October last year. Today, I app'd for Arrival and got the 7-10 day message. I called the credit analysts office immediately and was approved over the phone. They stated my app had been placed under review because I had just recently opened the Sallie Mae account.
