How tough is to get Chase Card?

How tough is to get Chase card? I am thinking of trying for a Good Biz card at some time. I have Amanzon Biz Credit and I am getting offer for Amazon Biz Visa from Chase. I am not sure if I should go for the app or not. Questions

Looks to me Chase normally pulls TU. Am I correct?

Last when I checked my TU score on 2/3 it is at 686. Hopefully in March it should go back to 700 as I paid large sum on car loan and decresed the balance. If TU scores are around 700 is it safe to apply for the Chase biz card? Also hopefully if Amex reports the CL on my Oasis card or show the Balance as $0 my scores should go up too. Right now my scores are hurt as Amex showing balance on account with CL being shown as $0 instead of $5000.

How picky is Chase with collections? I know citi would flat out decline if there is a collection. How does Chase look at collections before approvals?

Any suggestions on this card before I pull the trigger with the App? Thanks

I thought Chase pulled EQ?

I'm in Louisiana, and they have pulled EQ for me.

I know they are picky about collections. I had one. After it was taken off of my EQ, I applied again and got declined. They didn't give a reason on the letter. It said I could call and request the reason. The rep told me, he didn't see anything, but it was based on whatever EQ had for derogatory info. (?) I would imagine short history and recent accounts did me in.

Re: How tough is to get Chase Card?

concorduser, I had DH app for a Chase Amazon Biz card for one of my businesses back in October. They pulled EX, I'm in PA. I don't know what his score was then, but his EQ was 669 and his EX as of Jan 08 is 710.

My business does have history, started in 1999 although it's still a sole prop. I hope to soon inc. He supports the tech infrastructure of the business (we provide internet services in the neighborhood) so I wanted a separate business cards for infrastructure purchases (vs operations). But first, I was interested in the promo BT (0% for so much time).

Anyway, he got an instant approval for $2K. When the card arrived, it was for a $12K CL with no signs of a promo BT. We figured that we'll take the CL and not worry about a promo BT. Since I started a better paydown strategy since September, our current cards are offering promo rates as util drops. BTW, you only get Amazon GCs in rewards, at least they're automatic. Borders Business Visa is also Chase but you have the option of getting a check.

Outside of that, I'm finding Chase to be tough to work with in general. Have you looked at their professional association cards? Are any of those appropriate for you? I wonder if those might be easier if your affiliated with a professional organization and are apping for one you belong to?

Re: How tough is to get Chase Card?

Thanks Penguin. I noticed Chase was pulling TU in NH where I live. My biz has good CR with D&B and Experian Business. My concern when I looked at the Chase Biz App it did not ask for the D&B Number or EIN ID. Just my personal SSN. I am not sure if they are considering the biz credit as part of the approval or not.

The other reason, I thought of going for Amazon Biz card is, I already have biz credit approved with Amazon ( It is sort of store credit card ) by GEMB. Every time I use Amazon the offer keeps popping up on my face to apply for Amazon Biz Visa card. I am hesitating, because I used to get the same message from BOA and finally when I apped for it they declined.

That is why I dont want to take chance with Chase unless I have some sense the app is going to be approved. FirstEquity gave my biz card a CLI to $7k in months and if I wait another 3 months probably they will increase it again. That is why I am debating what action I should take.

Re: How tough is to get Chase Card?

Hmm, that's true, they didn't ask for the EIN at app. However, they did when we went to register the account on-line. I do remember questions about business history at app time.

Tough call I think. Chase to me at least, doesn't seem very flexible although they tend to have rewards I prefer. They hit my 3 accounts with a drastic CLD last year. When I called for reconsideration because of my long history with them and no lates since 2005, CSR said, "And that's why we didn't close your accounts."

Oh yeah, I had called for a recon in 2005 explaining I was late because my 1 yr old DD just had reconstructive kidney surgery. That's when they rate jacked my 3 accounts to 29%.

I have 1 30 day late out of the 3 Chase accounts that are over 10 years old.

Wow. Penguin, that seems like a horror story to me. I dont understand why would they do CLD and also once you explain your family health situation they rate jack. That does not seem to be fair to me.

Re: How tough is to get Chase Card?

How tough are they? For me, extremely!

I have my checking, savings, IRA, brokerage account with them....for years! I was a Bank One customer for 10 years prior to Chase buying them.

And to this day, for the life of me I cannot get a credit card from them......(of course I haven't tried in 5 years either! LOL).
