Where did this rumor start?

Its been reported on a number of travel credit card websites. Business cards are supposed to come under 5/24 at some point this month if they have not already and co-brands at some point in April. Bloggers are saying they are getting their info from contacts at Chase. People can stick their head in the sand and ignore this and hope it does not come true. However, if they do so and it does come to pass then they may be prevented from cards they really wanted. Basically if someone had a card they are eyeing with Chase and this rule would change their chance at approval it may very well be worth the risk of an earlier app than intended to get in under the line. I got the Ink plus because of thiss and I have an app in for the personal marriott card. Honestly the marriott card I'd probably have tried for anyway due to the higher signup and the way I figure is that if there is a chance I won't be able to get this card later I'm better off pulling the trigger now.

We'll know in April.  I'll test it out with a Bus Marriott App.

If your doing a biz app then we should know by the end of this month. Sometimes these things take  bit to implement, so there can be a delay. I am getting a bit nervous on my personal marriott app because april is approaching and I am still on 30 day message. I'm coming up on the two week mark so hoping for a positive update soon.

My Business partner is in the same position.  Her Hyatt App is under review, where I decided to call in an push mine forward.  Ordinarily, I find waiting for the review process to play out works better, but I wanted to push one more before April deadline--the Marriott 80K.

Not keeping head in sand, read the blogger posts, bloggers make money with apps, just FYI.  Besides, am not jeopardizing mortgage to get card can not carry balance on. Just because.  Either they will run their apps as normal, or I wait.  I PERSONALLY do not see a problem if I app, but my scores are higher.  If have time, will call them and see what is up.  Open123 seems to indicate the underwriters were acting like this is true.  Ergo, they may know it's true.

With biz apps I don't like calliing in because Chase is incredibly invasive about that type of stuff.

Yes I know bloggers make money off credit card apps. Although these reports seem very plausible given other changes made by Chase. If I was going for a mortgage I wouldn't be apping for cards no matter what. They are just credit cards after all and nothing special.

Depends on your business.  I have business licenses, and a year of revenue.  Plus, established business credit on both EQ business report and D&B (amex switched).

My business is perfectlly legit with several years of revenue, but I did not appreciate the questioning about how I marketed my business and what type of advertising I use. Never had soo many questions with other lenders about the business.

+1 to this, a mortgage should be a priority if you're going for one anytime soon and that means no credit card app is worth it (IMO).
