Get the mail today and both my partner and I had pre-approved letters for the voice... I thought they were legit because:
Mine is 0% for 12 months and then 20.99% for no rewards option or 23.99% if I choose reward card.
His is 0% for 12 months and then 9.99% for no rewards option or 12.99% If he chooses rewards.
I quickly go online and no option to enter any codes or anything so I just go through app and choose not a customer, etc. and boom... "Sorry, only current customers can apply!"
SAY WHAT?
So I call, give my social... he asks if I have an existing account and I said not that I know of!
He puts me on hold and asks if I own a car?
of course, I own a few... which one?
I name them and then he asks if I use to live in another state? I'm like yes.
He is like, sorry this letter was sent in error and you are not in our footprint.
I'm like that doesn't make sense because you didn't send it to my old address in the other state (have not lived in that state for 7 years) you sent it to my current address and it's marked that the info for the pre-approval was gathered on 11/15!
AND, my partner got one too, is his a mistake too!
So he is transferring me to sales department to see if something can be done?
I was so excited, now I feel irritated.
It appears my last relationship with them was for my 1998 auto loan that I took out in 2000 and got rid of in 2001... Tell me how that happens that they SP me in 11/2015 and want to pre-approve me BUT because I'm not a current customer it's voided... someone just wasted an extreme amount of bank money pulling sp on credit and sending out letters for invalid customers!

yea, that stinks.!!!
Interesting!
I don't know if my partner is just lucky to get someone smart today or what but he called in and was transferred over to someone to apply... Applied over the phone and instantly approved!
He was told the limit would be included with the new card.

thats just ridiculius!! I dont understand that at all!
I called back... I gave a KY address and my CA address.... she put me on hold to talk to banker and comes back saying it's a long hold but let me start your profile for them:
Okay, I gave KY address again and asked if I could give a different mailing address from billing?
She said no, I have to choose.
So I said well, then use the CA address since that is where "You" sent the pre-approval and I want it to match.
She then says, not sure if that will work, let me go back to the hold and wait for banker.
she comes back and says "it's illegal for us to take applications outside our footprint and since you are in CA we can't take the app"
(in my head... that is about the dumbest BS made up stuff I have EVER heard)
Okay, that's fine, lets go ahead and use the KY address then.
"Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to step into a branch to apply now!"
umm, I can't do that right now, that's why I'm calling.
"EXACTLY, You are NOT HERE and you want to apply with an address here, so NOW you need to go to a branch!" (Like the most ghetto attitude just came out of this girl)
I was like, You are the one that said I need to use the KY address, and your bank is the one that sent this letter to THIS CA address so I thought the info should match but you said no it needs to be KY and now you are saying no?!
"Good Day Sir, CLICK!"
Housewives of Atlanta NENE flashed through my mind!
That's awful. I had some of that when I tried to apply over a weekend, but obviously much better luck calling on a weekday. Maybe give it another day.
