Thanks for that tip! This is my first time doing a balance transfer. I figured submitting it online would be as quick as making a payment online. Living and learning. Still hoping it goes through by tomorrow though!Discover takes 5-10 days. I put in a small transfer and was taking forever and when I tried to cancel, they couldn't. It took 5 days...
That's so brutal!
Yep... It is...

@OP, I hope the payment posts today for you! I've seen these things post as quick as 1-3 days or as long as 5-10 days.
In the future, if they send you paper checks with the same BT offer, I highly recommend writing one to yourself - depositing and pushing a payment through your banks billpay if you're under time constraints!
Best of luck!
I think people are just taking things too seriously. Read the comments and remind yourself that speech is being converted to text and back. Context and tone may not always translate as intended.
Agreed... But when someone paints a picture as vivid in jest as an evil banker holding her balance transfer in his pocket; one must wonder how said context is being so misconstrued. I'm not one who wants everyone here to say congratulations on every thread, but if you have nothing of substance to add - keep it to yourself.
Oh come on. FinStar was joking, just the same as the OP. People need to stop looking for some perceived insult in every post. Nixon is 100% right. It's impossible to get the full context from text.
I am the last person looking for an issue. I just see a trend forming here, where it's cool to be unhelpful and that's not what this board was about when I joined.

@Anonymous know you are not.... @Anonymous was just making a general comment.
I like general comments.
I've also noticed that transfers from and to certain banks seem to take FOREVER.

Didn't mean to single you out. I apologize if it seemed that way. I'm not sure I see the same trend but everything is open to interpretation. I've just seen enough of FinStar's posts to know he was joking. I don't see anything wrong with some humor in these forums. I'll be the first to call someone out if they're being insulting. I just know that if we are all sitting around with a drink in our hands a lot of what seems to be a 'nasty' response would be laughed at in person. It's just so hard to, if not impossible, to see that in writing.

I soooooo want to comment on this... but don't want people to think I'm all of a sudden being nice.
LOL thanks everyone for your comments... both those who sympathized with my plight and those who may have thought I was a dimwitted twit for being mad at the evil banker...
Just giving an update to my saga: the evil bankers decided to have mercy on me and posted the payment at Discover today :-)

Good to hear. Beware of them in the future :-)
