I declined CapOne CLI

So, I requested a CLI on my CapOne Business Spark.

By currenlty limit is $1,500 and they offered at $150 increase.

I declined week CLI increase because that does me no good.

Any advice on how to get a larger increase?

Re: I declined CapOne CLI

Credit profile and income will determine what one qualifies for with personal cards.  I'm guessing that business would be the same but I'm not sure if that's based on personal credit, business credit or both.  You can try to see if they'll reallocate credit from your personal to business card if you have no headroom for a larger CLI with CO and you're willing to give up the Quicksilver.

Re: I declined CapOne CLI

Give it heavier use and check again in about a month. I've heard people getting small offers like yours, declining, and then being offered larger CLI's just weeks or months later.

Re: I declined CapOne CLI

Same thing happened to my 2 cap1 cards. Offered 150 on each at first. I figured out when they SP my report, which was the 9th. I waited until late night on the 9th or 10th then tried again. Offered 2k increase on each card. Give it a week or so and try again. As stated above heavy usage and payments don't hurt either 😁

Disclaimer: I'm not sure if there's a difference with business vs personal CC

How do you find out when cap 1 soft pulls the account?

Re: I declined CapOne CLI

When you pull your full reports (free annual report, dispute results, or otherwise) there's a section under inquiries that says something along the lines of "inquiries only seen by you". There will be promotional and account review inqs with the date of sp.

I would never decline any cli, no matter how much they offer. IMO

Re: I declined CapOne CLI

True, I'd be grateful for any increase. However, there are too many stories indicating to hold out a couple weeks for a much larger one, at least when dealing with cap1.

Re: I declined CapOne CLI

Some folks say there's nothing to it, but for me personally my own increases have always been more significant after recent heavy usage.

It's a given that your income, credit reports, etc. have an impact (we all know that) but many folks - myself included - have found Capital One to be especially responsive to high usage.
