I think they do this intentionally to decrease your credit score and force you to remain loyal to them. And to leave their mark... all over the place. Like some gal who puts a big ol' bite mark someplace visible on your person.
Oh I don't know about that. It's true they do triple pulls, but other than that, I have been about to get SP CLIs and even merge my cards without a HP.
So this morning I just said F it and applied for a Capital One Platinum. APPROVED $3000 limit?!?! You'll only give me a buck fiddy on the QS but 3 racks on the Platinum?
Typical Cap One.
What would you say a good ultilization would be to have?
When would you wait to ask for the CLI on the Freedom, when my utilization is at what %
I don't understand - "Typical Cap 1"
In related news:
I just applied for a Shell Card from Citi and got approved for a $400 limit.
How much in interest are you paying on those cards every month to carry a balance? I think figuring this out and keeping that number in your head might help you when you are tempted to purchase something you really don't need and don't have the cash for. Before you know it you will have created a new habit of only buying what you have in cash to pay for. That will help utilization go down and your scores go up, and then CLI will come.
I completely understand getting the balances down on the cards.
That is my number one focus right now.

Under 30% utilization reporting to the bureaus, less than 10% is even better. You can use as much of your CL as you need throughout the month, just always remember to pay it down to "at least" under 30% before your statement cuts each month. This will help your scores, and will give you a better chance at a CLI from any lender.
Congrats on your Shell card approval!!
