Secret, you can reopen a card within reason -- usually 6 months after you close.
You can't call them up to reopen a 3 year old closed card. Not gonna happen.

Thank you, didn't know. I've never cancelled a card. I get too attached. 
Also, OP, this is good that you cancelled, now you can re-apply at a later date and probably get a higher SL the second time around.
