I'm starting to sort of like Chase again

Well, as some of you know, I have had a strong dislike for Chase for a while now. Ever since they jacked the rate on my Freedom card from 12.24% to 24.24%, I've sworn up and down that I will never use my Freedom card again or do any business with Chase in the future.

Well, on Monday I caved and applied for the Amazon Rewards Card and was instantly approved for the signature version with $5k credit limit at 13.24% APR. At this point, I'm thinking "okay, maybe Chase is not so bad after all"

Then today, I called the recon department to ask if I could move the CL from my Freedom to the Amazon card and close the Freedom, and they did it without hesitation. Now I'm like "Is this the same Chase that I've hated for years?"

So I now have the Amazon Visa Sig with $8.3k CL and 13.24%!

Now you might ask why I would close the Freedom? Well, with Discover More, US Bank Cash+, BoA Cash Rewards, Wells Fargo Cash Back Visa, and Capital One Cash Rewards all with higher limits and lower APRs, I didn't have enough room in my wallet for a card with a 24.24% APR. I don't carry a balance but its the principle. Chase showed me no goodwill on that card.

Re: I'm starting to sort of like Chase again

It could've done that, but the Amazon card will get more use anyway. I have enough cash back cards.
