@xgac12x wrote:So in December I am looking to apply for about 4-5 new cards. Currently have a Capital One Secured (Which after I get these new cards I'm getting rid of) and a Discover It. I am a student, I don't buy groceries, just gas and restaurants and I dont travel..anyways here is the list I am slimmed it down too. I need to get to about 4-5 cards from this list, any I am open to suggestions as well.
1. Chase Freedom
2. Citi Forward for students
3. Citi Dividend for students
4. Bank Of America Student Cash Rewards
5. Suntrust Cash Rewards
6. USAA Visa
7. Sallie Mae World Mastercard
8. AMEX BCE
9. AMEX Green
10. Capital One Quicksilver Rewards
I am looking to get a relationship with American Express, I am starting a business soon so I would like to have a good relationship with them so I can get a nice business card (platinum or centurion
)
Anyways let me know what you guys think I should get!
Thanks.
If you want AMEX...go for the green. It shouldn't be too hard to get but it will establish a good relationship with them.
Just curious. What is the purpose that someone would want so many credit cards? Just because or does this help anything credit wise..Thanks in advance for explaing
I have 10 inquiries on my report..So I'm not sure if I still go for all 5 or whatever
Do you think I would be alright to apply for at least those three? I would like to get an AMEX too though..

1, 6, 8, 10.
Depends on length of history and income. 4 new low limit cards might e great for rebuilding but not actually advance your goals.
People love the Freedom but I'd probably choose a less famous card like Walmart while rebuilding. CLIs aren't going to cost a hard pull and it would grow faster with regular use. Mine has been stuck at $3K 2+ years, LOL!
SunTrust is allegedly pretty good for business. Might be good to start a banking relationship with them.
BOA is pretty decent.
Citi cards used to grow pretty well with regular use.
USAA is a good bank. If you can become a full member, applying makes sense. They're still pretty conservative, though. A ton of inquiries won't look good.
I guess it comes down to why you "need" 4 new cards. If you're planning to run a business with personal credit cards, most would say that's a recipe for disaster.
