No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
I got a regular "unsecured" CapOne card and a Citi Forward Student CC, when I had no credit history myself, with no student loan or loan history period. I'm a student just like you. I would try and call Citibank and ask for a reconsideration. Tell them you'll email documents such as a copy of your social, transcript, college ID. That's what I had to do when I applied for the student card for Citi, it's a long waiting process, but eventually they give it to you.
I would follow the others advice wait until the denial letters come in, see whats wrong, and let us know. After we determine that we could try some other cards, like the US Bank College Visa, Wells Fargo Student Visa, maybe a CC from credit union, so and so forth. There's more student cards out there, don't worry. What's your income btw?
UPDATE: I was not approved for a secured credit card from Capital One.
I give up.

Ouch something is wrong with file perhaps. When did you open the loan
Its nothing wrong. I think the poster did not use the same address or something. look over what you put in the app. You should at the least be able to get a secured card. I would call and recon even tho is secured if not look into the harleydavidson secured.
Yes, the reasons for denial are key here. Unless there is something you haven't said, without some baddies on the file, you are unlikely to be rejected everywhere, especially a Cap One secured card (who are usually very forgiving).
So it could be something simple like your SSN is linked to the wrong file, one which is extremely uncreditworthy, it might be they cannot locate your file because the student loan isn't reporting correctly.
Or maybe you forgot about that conviction for bank robbery and fraud!
But see what the letters say. This is really not something you can ignore unless you intend to live life off the grid.
since you're a college student, you can check out wells fargo student cards as well. they might want u to start out with a secured card.
bank of america secured cards are an option too.
It is almost guaranteed you will get approved for WF and BofA secured card as long as you have no baddies. They are more forgiving about thin files than bad files.
