I got an offer in the mail for a Citibank Platinum Select Visa. Pretty good one too. 0% for 12 months. So I know pre-approved and pre-selected are two different things but if the pre-selected has opt-out info, which it did, it is a better shot at being approved. I found that people who apply with offer were approved. They usually had low utilization, 0-2 inquiries on the Experian credit report, and a soft inquiry from citi cards on their credit report.
I checked, and I had the same soft inqury on my credit report. I'm thinking about applying in May, is there a good chance i'll get approved?
What do you guys think?
My Info
Utilization: 0-9%
0 inquries within the last 12 months
Score: somewhere in the 700's not sure since we can't get our fico score
Haven't been late on anything in 3 years
Baddies: none in the past 3 years, all paid in full
Id say you have a pretty decent chance. I wouldnt think the limit would be to high with the baddie only being 3 years. Its not with Citi is it?
No sir tannerk, I have only dreamed of owning a citicard but never have I ever defaulted on them.
I anticipate a small limit of at least $1000 which I would be more than happy with because I know Citi will grow with you as long as you treat Citi right, they'll treat you right.

I'd say you would get it, possibly a good limit too.
I think that you have a decent shot ~ assuming that your baddies aren't of the type that would usually get an automatic denial, like BK, etc...
No Banruptcy, No forclosure, No Repossions, No Judments, No Tax Liens Nada
Just some lates from when I was unable to work due to a car accident. As soon as I was able to get back to work, I paid all of my accounts, which were closed--due to the lateness, off completely.
Although it is a different card Citi Thank you in my case sent me an offer and was not instant (heard it sometimes is not) but I called the next day the backdoor number and was approved for $1500. They did not question my inquiries nor the lates I had from 2007-2008.
How old are your lates?
Last late thing was August of 2009 been clean since.
I've read that they dont care too much about paid charge-off as long as they are paid in full, not settled, and not with them.

Im mainly attracted to the zero percent offer for 12 months. Plus, if this card is approved, it will replace my stgnated capital one cards. lol
