Just a caution that promoting MS - which this is coming close to by extoling how great it's been - is not kosher in these boards.

PS. Want to make it clear that my comment is about the thread and earlier posts, not the post that appears directly above it.

Didn't intend to maybe unintentially promote MS but someone asked how. My op was just a question although this may be new info to others.

I know that. I am not blaming you at all. It just took a turn (at least it seemed to me) and I wanted to express that. Smiley Happy

That's $50000 / $600000. equivalent to 8.33% cash back on all the purchases. Possible but you need to be using a 5% back credit card most of the time + cashback portals + gift cards etc etc. You can but has anyone (personal, not business) done it? If so sadly this may not be a record. Smiley Sad Oh well.

That's if you have that kind of money... most people don't and no way I can afford to spare 50K / month without additional income supporting the spending. <- well.. if MS then maybe.

Keep in mind back in ~2005, not many credit cards with high sign up bonus and cashbacks usually cap out at  0.5%, 1%, 1.25% or 2% max.

It's only now that we are seeing 5% or more.

The 100K cashback total does not include the profits I made and all the assets I accumulated doing the activity.

If including profits I made the total will be an additional ~$400K cash extra on the sales of the extra items.

This is just a hobby... not my real job but seems more fun, almost want to quit my job and do this full time... but is not sustainable over the long run.

If cashback includes the profits from sales on this activity, then I am at 50K / year in cashback over the last 10 years.

Oops, you are right, I meant $100K a month to get that value.  And yes, several people have done that and more, although more as a full-time job than a "hobby".
