its 24.99% APR !!!!!! That's higher than the 22.99 I got on my freedom when I really didint have much experience with credit ! Most of my card are offering anything 19 and below , discover told me the other night once my intro 0% ends I will be at 10% ...  So what gives Barclay !!!! . Has anybody had this issue

Never read the fine print out loud or you'll summon demoms...lol!

ha ha... but it could also lead to a positive surprise. While I had Barclays on the phone for juggling around CLs  I mentioned  my "penalty APR" on US Airways and the CA immediately came back "we have an offer for you and can lower your APR"  on Arrival+ and would you like a CLI  at the same time?   I was like what ?  A CLI on 1 card where another barely got 2,5K at approval ??  Isn't there only one APR for the Arrival+ ?  Obviously not and I will for sure give them a call in 6 months to see what happens with the 19,99%. ... pushed my luck with that CA and on the card that was approved for 2,5K only and required to move some CL over from Sallie Mae asked if that can be increased as well and bam.. got another 2K on that one.. strange but I 'll take it.

There's no issue.  It's the APR that your credit qualified for with Barclays.

https://www.juniper.com/app/japply/lp/TnCs.jsp?prodidreq=CCMWC62341

Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for Purchases 15.99%, 19.99% or 24.99%, based on your credit worthiness.

Creditors do not all have the exact same critieria.  While you may qualify for a lower APR with creditor A that doesn't mean that you will with creditor B.  I have several cards that are at the lowest rate offered and card picked up since then that are not at the lowest rate offered.

You can "what if" endlessly and there are certainly situations that you won't be able to account for no matter what.   Barclays isn't going to lower your APR based on your what if scenarios though they might if your credit improves.  Work on building a liquid cash reserve for emergencies.  I know that's easier said than done for many -- including me.

+1 for this, ideally you shouldn't be using credit cards for emergencies. It's good to have a low APR card for the purpose, but even better to just have money that's liquid  enough to access and avoid using credit for a true emergency altogether. Especially since a low APR credit card is not typically gonna have rewards anyway.

This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate.

Yeah I read that ! Lol ! I'm just surprised ! Not really mad at all since as like Nixon said I have other cards in the case I need ton carry balance

Glad I didnt get that APR but I never carry a balance, But 24.99% is too high for a travel card
