INQ sensitivity - isn't there an ointment for that?

If I'm considering CSP, Citi AA, and Amex ED, is there any order of inquiry sensitivity? I believe they all generally pull EX in California.

DCU is on the wish list this year but they (and Discover) are EQ.

Re: INQ sensitivity - isn't there an ointment for that?

I can share my experience with a clean file and I will be the first to admit I have a boatload of EX inquiries.

1)  Citi:  No more than 6 inq in the last 6 months.

2)  Chase:  Never denied me with 25+ inq.

3)  Amex:  Never denied me with 25+ inq.

4)  Discover:  Took 4 attempts to get approved (denials were always because of an old negative on CR not inq).

5)  DCU:  No clue

The only lender who will steadfastly deny you for INQs is FNBO with their ARS pull.

I wouldn't worry about any of the ones you are interested in apping for.

Okay, good to know. ARS only shows 3 inquiries and is frozen anyway. And I'm not looking at US Bank or FNBO (paying off a closed FNBO account already and have no interest in another with them).

Mostly just wondering if the order of those three apps would matter. Once my updates catch up I'll probably app for all three the same day, and let the inquiries wear down. Sounds like Citi might be a good first one then.

Keep us updated as I will be following with my own app spree soon. Unless I get a CLI first from discover which could set me back a few weeks to let new limits report.

Well, I applied to DCU - preapproved for car loan I don't need, that should be EX for membership though. CC to come later maybe.

Applied for Amex ED (declined, probably nearly-2yo-baddies or 3mo-old-FICO) Citi AA (approved after call-in for analyst review, no quizzes though) and Discover It (approved online)  tonight. Discover is supposedly EQ/TU in California, the others are EX (Citi can pull TU too). Apped in that order.

Still pondering a second Chase since I suspect it'll be easier to open a new card than to CLI my Freedom card. And a BT/initial purchase offer would be nice.

DCU pulls EQ for membership and credit.

Yeah... I knew that. Funny enough I pulled it out of the other paragraph to change it and didn't. Smiley Happy Almost called Discover EX as well.

So Chase and DCU both pulled EQ (so far). Cost me four points on EQ FAKO, which honestly will be worth it. Smiley Happy
