LOL!!  I actuaclly like my HSBC and Chase makes me uneasy...That one is going to have to depend on the T&Cs of your particular card.

Not sure abou that one lgs.  Not sure what he OP is carrying but I have seen Chase pre-apps with starter rates as high as 20+ percent. Of course their tendency to ratejack is well known.

Re: If you had to cancel a card which would it be?

Come March, Chase is stopping the rate-jacking practice:

However, as Brammy said, the rates are a little high. Here's some card rates at random off Chase:

Chase Freedom MC...."A variable APR, currently as low as 17.49%"
Chase Platinum Visa...."A variable APR, currently as low as 13.49%"
Chase Amazon .... "A variable APR, currently as low as 14.49%"
Chase VW Platinum ...."A variable APR, currently as low as 14.49%"
Chase Marriott .... "A variable APR, currently 17.49%".

By comparison, DW's last HSBC statement was at 14.90%. Please note "as low as" in the above quotes.

And if Chase takes over WAMU, we can all get subprime cards with them (or semi-subprime for Brammy  Smiley Very Happy)
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

I don't have Chase but I do have HSBC and they will be getting the boot! Even if I did have Chase, HSBC would be out.

That is UD that does NOT mean that they can't jack you if your balance gets a little high for their standards or that they cannot lower the balance that sets this off or if they might raise you for paying more than min but just not enough to suit their needs....the list goes on.

BTW check out some of the student cards.  Don'tknow what pre-app they sent my kid bu this had a starter rate of over 20% .....whats prime about that?
