Are you considering your first card with Citi too? My first checking account was with WaMu but my first credit card was with CAP1. Lol.
$200. When I was at Citi last week I saw an offer to open up checking with 40k thank you points for basic checking. Made me want to open up a second checking account and linking paypal to it for my Ebay purchases.

Are you sure it was for the Basic account? I've only ever seem that offer for the Citigold account.
I have to stop at the branch tomorrow I will double check and even take a pic. if possible. Maybe it was for citigold I think I would of noticed that though.
I just opened a Citi Gold acccounts. I got 40k thank you poins. I also opened a Thank you card and got another 20k thank you points for a total of 6ok points. So $600 Dollars for opening accounts not bad! Other banks don't give you nothing! Sometimes Chase gives you$100 to open. But Citi keeps given you points on a monthly if you have direct deposit and do a bill pay. Or you can deposit from another account to your citi checking and will count as a direct deposit
I do plan to open a CC with CITI but maybe next year once(maybe by next year they will offer a better CC) I get my first cc and get its history runnin. Ive been to busy that I need to go to the branch and get it going asap.
thank you points on the debit card require 1 direct deposit per month and 1 bill pay per month. I just upgraded my debit card last night
and this was with the basic acct?
Ok so you need to have a monthly deposit of $1,500 in order to qualify for the points with a basic (if you want the points) right?
