In process of applying for SCC

Hello Everyone,  I am in the process of applying for a secured credit card as I do not have any revolving account. I just got and filled out a Orchard application and it asking me

Citizen of:   _________ USA _________ Other

Country of Citizenship, if other: ____________________

How would I answer this, if I am Latino (Hispanic) but I am a resident of Florida and do posses a residency card (green card)? I am confused as some people consider citizen of Florida, citizen of a city where you live and etc, which does not mean the legal status in the US.

Thanks in advance

Your green card makes you a permanent resident but thats it. How long have you been in FL? Are you married to a US citizen?

Re: In process of applying for SCC

You may want to look at some unsecured cards for BUILDING credit. Orchard products are typically for people who are REBUILDING credit.

Here's a good one for someone in your position:

http://www.capitalone.com/creditcards/newcomer-credit-card/a/?linkid=WWW_1010_CARD_TGUNS11_CCBRWREW_...

You don't need any credit history to qualify for it, although the starting CL will be low. It's unsecured, has no annual fee, and gives you some cash back.

You need to put the country of which you are a citizen.  Residency is not citizenship.   Florida is a state, not a country, so it does not count.

Re: In process of applying for SCC

I recommend Orchard for who does not owe or had problems with banks, they do check ChexSystem. For others that have issues with banks or checks, go directly to Cap One & WellsFargo. Gd luck

Orchard = DENIED (3-29-2012)

Cap One = APPROVED (4-11-2012)

WellsFargo = DENIED (6-28-2012) then DENIED (6-30-2012) then APPROVED (7-01-2012)
