Increasing BOFA secured limit

I got a Bank of America secured card in March 2009.  My 9 months will be up on Dec 5th.  I'd like to deposit some more money to raise my limit before it unsecures. Here are some questions:

How soon does BofA act on unsecuring the card? 

Will they unsecure it without me asking? 

If I deposit some money to the account will they wait a while before unsecuring because of the recent deposit?

What is a recommended amount to deposit in order to have the best chance of a product change?

What is the recommeded card to change to?

I deposited more money in mine before it unsecured and it didn't effect it, they still pulled credit to see if I qualified and then gave me the $500 CLI. but it didn't matter 6 months later when they decided to close my account!

Interesting.... I didn't know they would pull my credit to unsecure the account.  Is it just an account review or an actual inquiry?  I don't have any baddies since 2006 but my utilization is high.  So there's a chance that it won't unsecure anyway huh?

yes it's a hard and yes they can decline it, they did to me

That's very good to know.  I've been doing some reading for the past hour and I see that things have changed quite a bit in the 9 months I've had the card.  I think I'm just going to leave it as is and let them unsecure it when they feel it's appropriate.  Of course, if they take too long I'll call and ask what's up.
