Credit Junkies,
In your experience, does AMEX look at inquiries in the last six months or the last 12 months for initial applications? I've paid down all of my cards except for one so my utilization is less than 10%. I'm going to check my scores again at the end of the week to see how much they've improved. I have no negatives on my EX except 10 million inquiries. 11 will be off completely in December. 10 will be a year old in September. Two are new (2/12 and 3/12). If it's 6 months, I might do it. But if it's 12 months, I'll wait until the end of the year.
Thanks! (and forgive me if this is already discussed somewhere...)
Thanks. I'll wait until October or Novmeber. I have no negatives on EX and by then I will have 2 inquires within 12 months and zero within 6 months.
I'll see you in the Garden!
Interesting question. Does Amex count their own inquiries? Ie if I apply after all my inquiries age past 6 months and am denied, then wait a couple more months, will they hold their own recent inquiry against me? I am hoping to apply for Amex in November, but have several inquiries from January and then more in March.
