Interesting Denial Letter

Applied for Dillards around X-Mas and got a denial letter. Wasn't too suprised being it was at the end of an app spree and the INQ's were getting high. What was interesting was that when I got the letter, they said they pulled TU and EXP and my score was 010 on a scale of 0-900 lol. When I looked at my reports, only TU was pulled. Not sure how they compute this score, but my TU score is about 645. Just curious if anyone else had issues similar.

Starting Score: 656(EQ myFICO) 668 (TU myFICO)
Current Score: 638 EQ 680 TU08 677 EX
Goal Score: 750

What reasons did they give you for denial?? The score they gave is not a FICO but their own scoring model. Sounds like they might not have been able to access that report.

Wow, that's harsh ~ even FICO gives the bottom of the barrel a 350 score. Smiley Happy

Seriously though, something is messed up on their side no doubt. It might be worth are a call to see If you can at least get an idea on why they think your score is in the basement.....

I really trhink they couldn't access that file. He should call and speak to a CSR and maybe recon it.

Re: Interesting Denial Letter

The reasons were across the board..... lack of retail credit (have several including Macys for 17 years), balances too high as opposed to their cl's. Utilization is about 33%, too many recently opened accounts in last six months. That one is true lol.. I thought about them not having access to the report but I've never had a problem with that before and I didn't freeze it. I check it daily with truecredit and occasionally update here so i can have the real FICO score.

Re: Interesting Denial Letter

No,  I applied for Dillards Amex around Christmas  and I got approved. They sent me TU score with the card.  The score was printed on the back of card mailer. The score was 766 as of Dec 10 2011. They might have problem to pull your credit report. By the way, I didn't get any instant approval. I have to call to answer ID question before I got approved.

I don't think they do any recon.  I tried it before. Everything was final on their automated approval system. They will tell you to try after 30 days.
