I got this email from Amex. What do you think?

Re: Invitation from Amex

I think it looks exactly like the one I received in my spam folder and "invited to apply" doesn't seem to equal pre-approved Smiley Happy I could be wrong but I wouldn't chance it based on that email

Re: Invitation from Amex

I got the same one the other day - it's spam. You signed up for emails from AMEX, thus, you have emails from AMEX. Generally pre-approved offers will have an opt-out/in notice at the bottom specificying how they obtained your info and how to discontinue communications.

AMEX BCP $35k | Citi Double Cash $30k | PenFed PlatRewards $25k | Barclaycard $40k | Chase Freedom $25k | BofA Cash Rewards $40K | US Bank Cash+ $4500 | Discover IT $25k | NASA Platinum-Advantage $40k | CapOne Quicksilver $15k | Amazon Card $10k | Ten years on myFICO from 510 to 780 scores

Re: Invitation from Amex

I think it is an invitation to apply, which means very little about acceptance.   Also, if you do apply, go for the PRG, the green has few redeeming features!

Re: Invitation from Amex

I got that one, too.   It's just the marketing team in action.

If you want a charge card, go for one that fits your needs best.   I may try out a PRG if I ever wanted to boost my AAoA again.

Re: Invitation from Amex

I got this too yesterday. I already am planning on getting the PRG in feb, so this little offer I'm going to pass.
