Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Another FR rumors . As far as traveling, I have been told that too but they do have the prompt for travel notifications . I figured why not? It couldn't hurt to tell them ESP if I'm traveling and my ACM is not.

I don't see why they would assume increased risk or possibility of fraud for doing that. Also I sure hope not. I just like poking around all my sites a lot. Seeing when things clear and double-checking with my records. All this responsible credit usage stuff is still kinda new to me, so it's fun.

99% of what you read about FR is nonsense.  It's like a bad game of internet telephone.

Here is what you need to know about Amex FR.  Carry one form of atlernative payment and then use your card as if you had never heard of Amex FR.

They say not to tell them lol...
I tried to notify them before I went to NYC in August, and they said not to worry- after spending a fair amount, they flagged my acct for fraud, and my BCE got declined at Hugo Boss lol but Delta Gold went thru. It was a real hassle since I tried to tell them but easily fixable nonetheless:-)

Re: Is checking your AMEX account online...

I've been with Amex since 2003 and logged in at least a couple days a week for all those years. I've never had a FR. While everyone's situation can be unique I'd reckon that no, this does not cause a FR and is simply a rumor.

Always consider the source.  Not in my experience.
