1k...something tells me they look at your EX Plus Score..i had a 653 FICO last month..they told me my score was too low and i saw other posters that got it with lower scores..i checked my EX Plus and it was 587 I think and that I could understand why i was denied..I check my EX Plus this morning before I apped and it was up about 80 points..I apped and got approved...and on the denial they don't say FICO they say "bureau score"
Really, they don't. This is sort of a recurring AmEx fable. They use the FICO EX score, which they call the bureau score because EX crunches it by the FICO formula, and their own internal formula which looks for specific issues on reports, like the unpaid 120+. And their formula counts for a lot more than the score alone.
No business gets scores from myFICO --this is the consumer access point for FICO scores. Your FICO scores come from each bureau, using the FICO formula. That's why it costs so much when we want to buy our FICO scores --the bureaus are getting their cuts.
As best as I have been able to find out, Prosper.com is the only lender of any size or importance that uses the PLUS score. And I think that even their version is tweaked in some way, or least, that's what their site implies.
Sorry about the Blue, but congrats on the Delta! It's really a nice card, and it's a shame that people are in such a hurry to dump it.
