People often report here and on DoC that Amex offers them a MR bonus to enroll their charge cards in Pay Over Time. I have never received such an offer, but I would like to.
I used POT years ago. Ever since then, my charge card's statements have shown a specific dollar amount as my POT limit and they have a row for POT in the Interest Charge Calculation table (with $0 charged, since I don't use it anymore). Based on all that, it seems clear I am enrolled in POT. Obviously that would make me ineligible for the enrollment bonus.
So I want to un-enroll. Does anyone know with certainty that is possible? On the Amex website, under Account Services -> Payment & Credit Options, there is a link to Manage POT Setting. That presents two choices: Active or Inactive. Mine has been set to Inactive for a long time.
My sense is many posters and pundits assume that "enroll" means the same thing as "activate," and one can hop in and out of POT at will, collecting enrollment bonuses repeatedly along the way. That sounds great, but I'm not convinced it's true.
I have tried to un-enroll from POT via phone and Chat over the years. They consistently tell me it's already inactive. But there again, the reps seem to be conflating Enrolled with Active, and I suspect those may actually be different things. I think perhaps enrollment is a one-way process; once enrolled in POT, a card is enrolled forever. For enrolled cards, charges can be routed to POT or not, using the Active/Inactive switch.
TL;DR: Does anyone know how to un-enroll a card from POT?

Yes. Mobile App -> Select card -> Click "statements" -> scroll to the bottom and click "pay over time" -> click "Turn off".
Thanks for the reply. Does yours literally say "Turn Off"? Mine uses the same language as the website: Inactive and Activate.
The buttons say "Activate" And "Deactivate."

Interesting that there are different versions of that page. I'm not sure that answers my question, because Turn Off could mean Un-enroll, Deactivate, or something else. I'm guessing it's synonymous with Deactivate and there's no way to un-enroll from POT.
But I hope I'm wrong and I welcome any contrary evidence!

I think you are overthinking this.
Clicking "Turn Off" or "deactivate" will un-enroll you from Pay over time.

Clicking "Turn Off" or "deactivate" will un-enroll you from Pay over time.
Could be. Everyone other than me seems to be making the same assumption you are about that. But I'm skeptical. There's POT stuff all over my statements. I have a hard time seeing that and believing I'm not enrolled in the program. Perhaps we'll never know unless I get an enrollment bonus offer. If that happens, I'll be happy to grab it and admit I was wrong. 😁

I was automatically enrolled in pay over time when the account was opened. I turned it off, and a few months later received the 20K points enrollment offer.
