I asked the wrong question 😂
I have over 200k credit and just don't understand hidden trade lines until yes-it's-me's responseIt's not all about emergencies. It's also about having the ability to tweak your over all utilization. I have $330,000 and I still find it great to pay certain bills out for six months and it not show up on my reports. Hard to beat 0% with no payments for 6 months plus 2% CB.

Another POV maybe that a person does NOT want to NOT have their great payment history, great util ratio HIDDEN away....
meaning "no credit" for properly handling a credit account.
Point being for sure 'somebody' might feel CHEATED by doing the work and not getting a 'grade' in the public grade book.
This is true! I'd probably feel that way if I already didn't have so many accounts reporting . One more isn't going to make much a difference for me. I feel ya though.

I must admit I might be one of those people. I had interest in the card, but was waiting to see how things played out. But I also found myself thinking that I might not like it not being reported, I'm sure, most think the oppsite though.

Maybe, maybe not
I can see both sides and can clearly see why one might be more advantageous depending on one's file and usage.....
Ex: if a person is growing their file, they may want to work and great utilization SEEN...they might want another few THOUSAND in CL reporting as it may bring down their overall debt/ratio.
Whereas somebody may benefit from 'hiding' usage/ratios thus protecting their scores as they pay down...ie a real estate agent or biz person waiting for commisions etc
A person that maintains 5-8% debt/ratios either way might not give a flying flip b/c it means NOTHING to THAT person, either way....
My point is I see them both, I know exactly why one would feel either way and they are both right and the 3rd viewpoint in the middle again doesn't matter and wouldn't care...
@Gmood1 wrote:I'm three statements in and nothing. I'm ready to call it. After the forth cuts, either its hidden or it should be. Four months without reporting to the bureas would be ludicrous. lol
I'm calling it as well. It's been about a week since my 3rd statement and nothing.
It will finally start reporting the day you finance that large purchase and report 80%. of course
While it certainly appears to be hidden, I wouldn't app for it just for that! The card anyway has best-in-class features (immediate redemption, recurring 0% periods etc)
Like Diners, it might one day report. Or not.

Why does it matter if it's hidden or not? Trying not to pay your bills or something?
Hidden credit lines are VERY useful in protecting utility when used properly and I don't mean everyday spending or that new Rolex you want.
In 2015 I had to settle an estate and personally had to cover over $50,000 in expenses before the estate closed and paid me back. Most banks will NOT lend or establish credit lines to "estates in probate". This estate had high 6 figure assets - mostly real estate - but almost nothing in cash assets. I carried $15k on Diners Club - hidden with no affect on my scores, another $15k on various cards that reported and the rest from my personal savings. Over the year while in probate my scores dropped probably 40-50 points due to higher utility and total balances - this recovered of couse once the real estate settled and the estate settled, but it would have been worse if the $15k (of a $20k credit line) from Diner's Club reported.
Just today, we used BlisPay to pay funeral expenses (new event) for over $9000 for another situation, these funds will be covered by life insurance, but funeral expenses need to be paid in advance and the "hidden" Blispay account means the 4-8 weeks I have to wait for the insurance check means I personally won't be hit with high utility or higher balances on my credit report (with Blispay I get 6 months no interest too, but it'll be less than two months for full pay off).
Credit used wisely, incliuding the value of hidden credit lines can be very useful - think car accident, sudden medical expenses, car thief, major home repair such as HVAC replacement, etc etc.

It's not a contest.

I'm sure everybody is safe until I get my Blispay to 80%, then it will report for sure.
(I tend to have a 'knack' with things... when the time is the worst for me, "it" will happen, whatever "it" is...LOL)
