It's not working for me at all.

Comenity pre-screened offers for these types of "shopping cart" pre-approvals do not solely rely on score. Sorry, but I don't think anyone on the forum can say for certain as far as a minimum threshold - everyones profiles are different. Score is one component as is your CR profile to determine elegibility since each Comenity card program has their own specific criteria.

+1. Some of us here in similar ranges of scores have been approved and not approved for all sorts of the stores that offer the "shopping cart" trick. I would say that from casual observation, I've seen some people get VS as low as 590s, but then some people in the 630s can't get it to work for them. YMMV.
If the OP would like share more about their score & credit profile, we might be able to offer better CC suggestions.
There is no min score but I would say in the very high 500s to low 600s is the min you see people getting approved. I myself have an almost 640 score but can't get one because my student loans are in rehab so every month they are still reporting a late until I complete the program thank god it ends this month lol. However, even some people with 700 plus score don't always get pre-approved. I have heard that if one thing is off on your name or address from what it is on your credit report the trick will not work. I also heard for the sportsman visa if you add lots of stuff to your cart and add some subscription you have a better chance of getting one. Who knows though it seems like there's no rhyme or reason with the shopping cart trick.
You could also make sure you're Opted in, use private browsers, create an account with the retailer and dump a ton into the shopping carts, etc.
Many of these "tips" are unproven but it couldn't hurt to try right?
I have tried for about 2 and half months straight and still can't get anything to pop, but discover and chase preapproaval i can get to pop. It just seems very random to me :-(
I really think the minimum score is 645. I tried for MONTHS...since June, and it wasnt until my EX score hit +645 that VS popped right up! My EQ score is less than 645 so the shopping cart trick won't work for me for stores that pull EQ and I really want the Ann Taylor pop up.

I was trying for jcrew, and still nothing for me my eq is right around 700 give or take an few. Maybe jcrew just doesn't like me oh well lol.

You may have qualified at 645, but that is not a solid data point for everyone. Other folks have been approved for various Comenity CCs either at similar scores or above/below the range you provided. Again, scores are not the only requirement utilized for their pre-screened offers and individual experiences will vary since factors associated with individual CRs are part of the overall elegibility.
@Finstar: what, besides the CS, is being evaluated then...inquiry minds want to know...???
