Hello again...I am so thankful for the continuous knowledge shared through this forum every single day. Today I am hoping to gain some new knowledge regarding payments to Discover.
Discover's policy when processing "multiple payments" within a 3-day window may result in a delay up to 8-days to adjust our "available credit limit," ...is the worst. Especially when your next statement generates inside that 3-day window and you need to lower your card's utilization.
I am basically looking for a "workaround" to Discover's .... (1) no more than 2 payments/bank account in same day limits, and (2) to Discover's "processing delays" for multiple payments made 1-3 days apart. My husband's statement will generate at the end of closing tomorrow (10/12) so hoping to avoid "processing delays" or hiccups.
Only way I know how to explain my situation is like this....
In regards to "pushing" payments to Discover to pay back to back payments (within 1-3 ays), has anyone every experienced these "delays" anyway, stuck waiting up to 8-days before Discover adjusted your "available credt"?
Thank you for any info or advice that may have worked for you when making payments to you Discover card account.
i've made a payment out of bf's account and my account in the same day to my discover. i think there was a delay but definitely not 8 days.. maybe 2 days?
My Discover website showed me this warning for the first 6 months but now it no longer shows it.
I did start pushing payments from my bank rather than pulling payments from Discover. I use Chase, if I send a payment today before the cutoff, Discover posts it tomorrow but it doesn't show on the Discover site until the day after that.
I can push payments every day and it shows up in available credit very quickly.
Since I only have a $2500 (secured) limit, and have months where I can spend 4-5X that but always PIF, I tend to make a LOT of payments to clear up available credit or post a statement balance of $5. So I am always pushing payments.
Not sure why the website stopped giving me the multiple payment warning -- maybe your account is too new and it goes away in time?
